About Lake Prep
The Lake Preparatory Way
Unlike many schools that focus on short-term outcomes, Lake Preparatory School takes a lifelong view. Lake Prep's approach results in students who are not only academically successful in college but who are inspired to make meaningful contributions throughout their lives.
At Lake Prep, our rigorous academic program is delivered in a way that resonates and sticks with students throughout their lives—because you learn by doing. By applying what is learned in the class to real world situations, Lake Prep students construct meaning out of research opportunities, realistic lab activities, critical thinking exercises and fact-based analysis. Whether in or out of the classroom, this approach allows you to incorporate your learning with your living, laying a strong foundation for a life of intellectual exploration and meaningful contribution.
Despite the fervent push by the educational establishment, the failings of the "middle school" concept have prompted interested educators to look more carefully for a solution. The "Lag" often created during a student's adolescent years is the conspicuous culprit placing high school graduates behind their foreign counterparts. Careful inspection and thoughtful planning has created a recent rise and success in schools turning toward a K-8 concept. While the academic program must be the brain of a school, the heart and soul should come from the spirit and involvement of its students. Lake Prep offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities that encourage students to expand upon their classroom experiences. Students will be seen every day working together, developing leadership skills and building lifetime relationships. Lake Prep's goal is to prepare balanced individuals who will excel in high school and college as well as their life long careers. There is a strong emphasis on learning how to learn as well as instilling an understanding of a higher expectation. Our students are being prepared to deal with and adapt to whatever the future holds. A Lake Prep educated student will be able to think on their feet as well as in their seat!
